Kimberley Dynamiters January Player of the Month: James Farmer

The Kimberley Dynamiters presented forward James Farmer with the Jewels on Ninth January Player of the Month during February 3rd's home game.

Farmer scored four goals (including a power play goal), and seven assists, in eight games in January.

"It feels good to be recognized," Farmer said, "we have all have been playing well as a team and many other players could have been recognized apart from me."

Head coach and general manager Derek Stuart has said that Farmer has been the teams best forward since the holiday break.

"James is a guy that plays the penalty kill, and takes a lot of the face-offs on the power play. He's been our top nine forward. He gets a lot of ice time and important minutes, he is really responding."

Looking back on the past month, Farmer feels his success is due to keeping the game simple,

"Just doing the small things right, going to the right places gives you opportunities to make plays. I was able to capitalize on my chances."

Farmer is only four points away from reaching his KIJHL century, with five game remaining in the schedule.

Stuart was quick to re-frame, "he is really pushing to win a championship, I think 100 points is a nice feather in his cap."
