Kimberley Dynamiters return home with series tied 1-1 after Game 2 loss

The Fernie Ghostriders have not lost two games in a row this whole season, while the Kimberley Dynamiters have only lost one game in 2015, in OT for that matter. 663 piled into the Fernie Memorial Arena to see the game.

Game Notes
  • Nelson started in net, his first start this playoff run.
  • Fernie was wearing their sharp red alternate jersey's, and Kimberley in black... difficult to watch when colour blind.
  • Injuries/Scratches: Brouwer, Roy, Hunt, van Steinburg, Pagura
1st
Fernie was buzzing. The Dynamiters took two penalties in a row, and Fernie capitalized on the PP, the first PP goal Kimberley has let in all playoffs. Jowsey returned the favour as he fluttered a puck past a screened Orser. The Nitro's got another PP chance, and this time Saretsky scored. The Nitro's led 2-1 at the end of the period, but the Riders led 15-11 in shots.

2nd
Fernie tied the game with 12:53 left in the period. Both goalies were performing excellently, on purpose or by accident (see Orser's comical tweet). The Riders took the lead with just under four minutes left in the period. Kimberley made a late push, but couldn't solve Orser. Fernie led 3-2, but Kimbo had the edge in shots, 8-6.

3rd
The Riders kept their pressure on. Adding two more goals. Kimberley responded with several chances, but couldn't buy a goal. The Riders finished with a 5-2 victory. There was a lot of pushing and shoving at the end of the game, but then two seconds were added onto the clock and then they ran the clock out.

The Dynamiters return home after splitting the series, and now have 3 of the next 5 games at home.

Dynamite Player of the Game
Jared Marchi - two assists on the night

Honorable Mentions
Jordan Busch - calm and collect in his own end
James Jowsey - 1G
Braden Saretsky - 1G
Jason Richter - 1A, screened opening goal
