Game Notes
Tyson Brouwer got the start
Braden Saretsky played in his first game, and Bancks said he would try him on the Richter & Marchi line.
1st
The Rockets controlled the first period of play. The Rockets scored midway through the period. Moments later Marchi got the only penalty of the period for cross-checking. The Rockets out shot the Dynamiters 11-5; Brouwer was on his toes.
2nd
In a rare penalty-less period, Marchi evened the score. Saretsky got a helper on the goal, looks like Bancks' hunch worked! It was an even period as the Nitro's edged the Rockets in shots 8-7.
3rd
In what started as an even balanced period, especially as Viberg was up to the task. But then the wheels fell off. The Dynamiters were on the PP when Buckley tucked in a rebound. Buckley stayed out to be on his usual line with Prevost and Haase. The Nitro's won the faceoff, Jowsey doodled around and spotted Buckley, he broke in and scored his second goal of the game, 10 seconds between the two. Moments later Haase was waltzing in with the puck he dumped it in and it ricocheted off the boards, off Viberg and in. Then there was a little lull before another frenzy of goals. Buckley completed the hat-trick. Which brings to mind how he can not only agitate the officials, but the opposing team, at the same time, as this picture so demonstrates (Picture by J L'Heureux):
Haase barged in 13-seconds later and scored his second goal of the game, giving the Nitro's a 6-1 lead with just over a minute left.
Nitro's Player of the Game
Eric Buckley - Scoring two goals in 10 seconds, not to mention adding a third and an assist. He was electric during the 3rd
Honorable Mentions
Keenan Haase - 2G 2A also the KIJHL's who's hot right now
James Jowsey - that pass to Buckley was AWESOME!
Coy Prevost - Somehow didn't collect any points, but I swear he was in on a few.
Tyson Brouwer - 30 save performance
