  • Fernie is home to the leagues leading scorer: Cole Keebler.

1st
The two teams were battling over every section of the ice. The Ghostriders were finishing their hits early on. Things got a little physical early on as the Dynamiters protected the crease, but it resulted in two 10 minute misconducts, one a piece. Fernie got their first PP chance that Kimberley effectively killed. During the mid point the two teams faced off to Orser's blocker side. The Nitro's won the draw and Chabot scored the first goal of the game. The Riders began pressing and knotted the score. However, Kimberley responded quickly, in a play that was becoming frustrating, Kimberley firing shot after shot after each rebound and finally Hunt was able to put in the rebound off of Bertoia's shot. Kimberley finished the period up 2-1.

2nd
Both teams resumed the pushing and shoving after whistles, and eventually the ref penalized both teams. The Ghostriders tied the game five minutes into the period. Kimberley struggled to respond as they were penalized and the Riders got two PP in a row. Marchi and the other PK's were sacrificing their body. Meier restored the Nitro's one goal lead after a turn over led to him sniping a shot in. Kimberley finished this period up 3-2.

3rd
Kimberley built on their lead as they went up 4-2 on a PP goal. It looked like on of their set plays as Busch passed to Marchi who sent it quickly to Buckley who buried the chance. The Riders pulled the goalie with just under two minutes left in the period. Panic would be an understatement. The Riders were giving it their all, which eventually led to them being within one with 41 seconds left. Kimberley held off the frantic rush and won their 13th game in a row!

That was Kimberley's only game this weekend. Their next game is on Tuesday November 10th at home. They currently hold an 11 point lead over the 2nd place Creston Valley Thunder Cats.
