Game Notes
- Tyson Brouwer started in net
- Eric Buckley and Jordan Busch returned from injury
- Injuries/Scratches: Campanella, Marchi, Gordon, Pagura
1st
I was four minutes late logging into the game (my ticket expired), and by the time I logged on it was 1-1. The Dynamiters scored first with a goal less than a minute in by Wallace from Saretsky. Roseboom responded for the Coyotes (I originally read that this was a PP goal, but it was scored 4 seconds after the penalty expired). The Coyotes later scored a true PP goal by Braid. This period was fast paced, and furious with the Coyotes leading 15-12 in shots.
2nd
The teams seemed to slow their pace from furious to average. The Dynamiters evened up the game with a rebound goal by Prevost. Moments later the Coyotes charged in and made an excellent tic-tac-toe play to tie the game, and Brouwer robbed them with the paddle. The Coyotes blogger, Jen Jensen, captured the moment perfectly. This save also brought out the Brouwer Rangers. You could also over hear the fans saying how impressed they were of Brouwer's glove hand. The game was tied 2-2, and the shots were 9-9 this period.
3rd
Shaver gave the Coyotes a 3-2 lead, and the arena erupted. Richter was floating around in the slot and was fed the puck which he deflected on net, and was robbed. On the ensuing play Saretsky and Wallace teamed up again, as Wallace scored his 2nd of the game to tie the game. To say the the remainder of the period was intense, is a major understatement. There were amazing chances, stellar saves, and fantastic defensive play by both teams. The Dynamiters got a late PP opportunity on a puzzling call that I can't figure out. They were unable to score and this game was headed for overtime. The shots were 12 a piece.
1st OT -4on4
There was open ice and both teams capitalized. However, neither team could solve the goaltending.
2nd OT -3on3
The highlight of this 5 minute period is that regardless of the penalty called, it is a penalty shot. Haase got a penalty shot opportunity, and got Soles going left to right, but couldn't get it past the dragging pad. The fans hated this call, but LOVED the save.
While it may seem anti-climactic, but neither team won as it was a draw. But this game just felt like both teams should win, which a tie is close enough to that. The shots in OT were 11-9 for Osoyoos.
Nitro's Player of the Game
Tyson Brouwer - 44 save performance, and made several saves that made the Brouwer Rangers ecstatic.
