In what was potentially the Nitro's biggest test of the season so far against the Nelson Leafs, the Dynamiters won their fourth straight to remain undefeated.
1st
The Leafs opened the scoring in the game. Even though the Leafs out shot the Nitro's 15-5 in this period, the Nitro's still played well. Brouwer kept the Nitro's in it.
2nd
Garcia was on the receiving end of a nice set up to tie the game 1-1 (If your still rocking the bowtie, this should be your theme song). In what became a poor sequence of events, a missed high stick call against the Leafs, an icing that shouldn't have been waved off, the Leafs jumped into a 2-1 lead. The Dynamiters responded with another powerplay goal, it was a goal by Richter that caught everyone by surprise.
3rd
The majority of the third was a graceful period was the Dynamiters held onto their 3-2 that was established early by Prevost. That was until St. Pierre of the Leafs leveled a Nitro's player. There didn't seem to be a penalty called at first for the head shot, and play even continued for several seconds until the pile up stopped play. However, after the scrum, penalties were handed out, including a hit to the head. Prevost sealed the win with an empty net goal.
Nitro's Player of the Game
Jason Richter, he scored the game tying goal and really played his heart out every shift.
