Even though this was a Charity Game, pride was on the line for both sides, and individuals. And this wasn’t just any game for the fans either, this was a trip down memory lane, and gathering of past, present, and future fans of the Dynamiters.
Both captains, Weimer and Bennato received standing ovations. The arena erupted during the ceremonial puck drop for the Ratcliff family.
Here are just a couple of my favourite moments:
  • My favourite goal, outside of Bennato’s and Klingspohn’s hat trick, was Jeff Brown’s. He scored 5th goal for the White Team, and you could tell after he scored his goal, the glory days (if you want to call them that) just seemed to come back during the goal celebration.
  • Buckley really appeared to still get under players skin on the opposing team, frequently stealing the puck from Weimer.
  • As a parent, somehow magically having two B104 shirts land on my kids laps, made parenting easy.
  • Listening to the past Dynamiter fans behind me, recalling their favourite moments.
  • The unbelievable goaltending by Cam Dodd, he wasn’t just trying to stop the puck, he was attacking it!
The following is the unofficial, blogger kept, score sheet for the game:
Team Period 1 Period 2 Period 3 Final Score
Blue 5 2 4 11
White 3 3 1 7
Blue goals by: Klingspohn (3), Sibbald (2), Christensen (2), Busch, Batzilay, Bouchard (SH), Keiver
White goals by: Shrieves (2), T. Pagura, Bennato, Brown, Garcia, Shepherd
Penalties: Sibbald got the only penalty of the game for tripping.
Goaltending:
Blue Team: Dodd played 60 minutes, faced 42 shots and stopped 35 shots.
White Team: Fabro played half the game and faced 27 shots, stopping 21 (he really got going just before the goalie switch). Mousseau played the second half and faced 20 shots, stopping 15 of them.
The team posted some great pictures on Facebook.
