KIJHL Alumni Team on NHL 13

So I have been bachelor-ing it while my family has been away, which usually means I do nerdy things.  So I have been busy searching through my NHL 13 and creating a custom team out of KIJHL Alumni that were in the game.  I then simulated this team through an NHL, AHL and a WHL season.

This was the roster that I pieced together after sifting through the KIJHL Alumni page, Wikipedia, Internet Hockey Database, and every KIJHL teamswebsite that listed Alumni.

The captain is Shea Weber, and the assistant captains are Cody Franson and Chuck Kobasew.

This KIJHL team had 2/5 stars for offence, 3.5/5 for defence and 3.5/5 for goaltending for an overall of 3/5 stars.

For the NHL season, I substituted out Phoenix, because well you know, it’s Phoenix. The team finished with a 20-55-7 record and 47 points for last place in the league and therefore did not make the playoffs.

The leading scorers were:

2. Drayson Bowman 15G – 22A – 37P
3. Andrew Ebbett 15G – 19A – 34P
4. Cody Franson 2G – 27A – 29P
5. Kris Beech 14G – 15A – 29P

In the AHL, I substituted out the St. John’s IceCaps because I am still upset about the Manitoba Moose leaving. Anyway. This team finished with a record of 46-25-5 worth 97 points, top in their division and conference although fifth in the league. The playoffs went well going 4-2, 4-3, 4-3 in the first three rounds until eventually winning the Calder Cup in four games.

3. Cody Franson 10G – 44A – 54P
4. Chuck Kobasew 29G – 22A – 51P

2. Cody Franson 1G – 13A – 14P
3. Andrew Ebbett 4G – 9A – 13P
4. Craig Cunningham 6G – 7A – 13P
5. Drayson Bowman 6G – 7A – 13P

Now the WHL. After such an exciting AHL season, I kind of expected a positive outcome in the WHL. I substituted out the Vancouver Giants because they were ranked the worst in the league. The team finished with a record of 65-5-2 and 132 points, top in their division, conference and league. The playoffs went smoothly, sweeping all the series and eventually winning the Ed Chynoweth Cup and then winning the Memorial Cup in style.

4. Drayson Bowman 10G – 7A – 17P
5. Andrew Ebbett 7G – 10A – 17P

So it seems like the KIJHL Alumni can put together a team that, according to this simulation, drowns in the NHL, competes in the AHL and dominates in the WHL.
